From boiler repairs to installing ground source and air source heat pumps to servicing Solar Thermal and Photovoltaic systems and laying underfloor heating systems, Rob and his team can help you with your project requirements however great or small.
We are based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and also cover the surrounding counties of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire. We have completed projects across Milton Keynes, Berkhamsted, St Albans, Watford, Luton, Hemel Hempstead, Aylesbury and Northampton as well as further afield in North London, West London and across the South East.
We first put this on the blog about the huge renovation works I carried out on my Mum's house in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire in March 2016 when it came out in Build It Magazine.
It's come to my attention nearly a year later that my Mum continues to get random people walk by ...well, actually stop and knock-on to ask to have a look around the house! People are extremely complementary about the works we carried out and often want to replicate this on their own houses.
This lovely property in the village of Grendon, south of Northampton, had a draughty conservatory with a plastic roof.
Although it was a great light space, the family were unable to use it effectively for much of the year due to it being in a north-facing shaded spot. It had become a bit of a storage space.
Blue Sky were asked to make the space into a useable, warm-through-the-year office but at the same time keep the light airy nature of the space so our team stripped off the old rattly plastic roof material and built a "warm" roof on top of the existing solid timbers.
We then clad it in a state of the art German roofing material called RESITRIX®. This reinforced product has alifetime guarantee and is perfect for flat roofs. It can even be used as a substrate for a "green" roof. The produc twas also chosen for its grey, smart appearance that blends well with the traditional lead work on other parts of this traditional stone built home.
By building up we were able to install three new Velux roof lights to maintain the lovely light feeling in the space at the same time as making it incredibly well insulated.
To finish off, the ceilings were plastered and after installing a thin layer of insulation to the existing floor we laid an electric underfloor heating system complete with thermostat and timer to ensure that the space is always at the desired temperature and at the times the family need. With the added insulation and timer controls this spaceis now cheap to heat and has become this busy family's light, airy and warm office.
